International Newcomer Spotlight: Ramon Pagan

In 1989 Ramon Pagan immigrated to Ohio from Puerto Rico, bringing along with him his wife, young child, ten moving boxes, and a ten thousand dollar debt. Growing up, Pagan’s mother was an entrepreneur that ran a neighborhood store that sold everything from jewelry to household items. Pagan inherited his mother’s strong work ethic – and entrepreneurial spirit – and was driven to succeed.

Thanks to All Who Made #chooseCLE a Success!

On July 16th, Global Cleveland partnered with Summer on the Cuyahoga, the Cleveland Hillel Foundation, NeoIntern, FlashStarts, (i)Cleveland, and Engage! Cleveland to host the second annual #chooseCLE career and networking expo. This event was an amazing opportunity for summer interns to learn from Cleveland area professionals about exciting opportunities, organizations, and employers in the Greater Cleveland region.

Summer Program Now Available at Global Cleveland's Welcome Hub!

In October 2014 Global Cleveland partnered with Friends of the Library, the City of Cleveland Heights, University Heights school district, Heights Libraries, US Together, and Welcoming Heights to open a community Welcome Hub for Displaced Personss resettling in Cleveland Heights. Participation grew throughout the fall and spring, and we are happy to announce summer programming has now begun!

Collaboration is important to the understanding of other cultures and we should be celebrating our differences so we can work together to build a better place to live for all.  Diversity is the key to success and Cleveland should be dedicated to this idea.

Newcomer Spotlight: Camille Nixon

After spending ten years living in Manhattan, Camille Nixon could proudly call herself a New Yorker. However, last February, all of that changed when she relocated to Cleveland. Nixon, now a downtown Cleveland resident, is the new Director of Government Program Operations for Medical Mutual. Medical Mutual is re-entering the Medicare Advantage market, and in her new position, Camille is responsible for supporting market re-entry from an operations perspective.
