Global Cleveland is proud to participate in National Welcoming Week, a nationwide event that recognizes the contributions of immigrants in local communities. In 2014, over 160 events attracted over 15,000 participants across the country. Keep reading to find out what Global Cleveland has planned for 2015! 

 

 

 

 

 

Tuesday, September 15th 6-8PM

Art exhibit: Join us as we kick off Welcome Week with a reception and art exhibit at the main branch of Cleveland Public Library. The art exhibit is comprised of works by international and globally minded artists, and will remain on display throughout the month of September. The reception will celebrate newcomers to Cleveland and all are welcome to attend!

Thursday September 17th 7-9:30PM

 Film Screening: Refugee Services Collaborative of Greater Cleveland is hosting a screening of five short documentaries that explore the lives of refugees in Cleveland. The screening will be held at Gordon Square’s historic Capitol Theatre, and complimentary tickets and appetizers will be provided. Immediately following the screening there will be a question-and-answer period with the filmmakers and subjects.

Saturday, September 19th 1-5PM

Join us for a family-friendly day of soccer, games, and snacks! Global Cleveland will be at Madison Park in Lakewood, along with experienced soccer coaches on hand to offer tips and techniques for success!
