Are you a carpenter, construction laborer, electrician, first-line supervisor, operating engineer, painter, plumber, or service unit operator? Ohio Means Jobs (OMJ), the State of Ohio’s employment website, has included building and construction trade workers in its monthly in-demand jobs report. In fact, OMJ has over 1,600 open positions listed from nearly 150 area employers! The majority of the positions require a high school diploma or vocational training, and the median wage ranges from $35,660 to $57,500. Current projections forecast continued growth in the building and construction trade sectors.

Global Cleveland is excited about some of the big changes coming to Cleveland next year, and the construction surrounding the Republican National Convention and large-scale public works projects will surely contribute to the continued employment growth in this sector.

A sampling of some of the companies currently hiring include Corrpro Companies, Inc.; JMax; Pleasant Valley Construction; Integrity Technical Services; The Pulte Group; HDR Inc.; CyberCoders; and 21st Century Concrete.
