Sherwin-Williams, Giant Eagle, Rockwell Automation, Lubrizol, First Energy and Parker Hannifin Corp. are some of the companies with the largest number of internship opportunities in the region per the February 2015 Ohio Means Jobs’ Internship report. This is great news. However, according to NOCHE (Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education) there are over 226,000 students in Northeast Ohio. These companies alone cannot offer enough internships to satisfy all the internships needed in our market.
There are many reasons to have an internship program, but perhaps the most telling is the fact that nationally employers made full-time offers to 64.8% of their interns. (According to the 2014 National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) Internship and Coop Survey.
