Over 215 summer interns, many who reside outside of Greater Cleveland, connected with over 35 employers at Global Cleveland’s “#ChooseCLE” event on Wednesday, July 23rd. Global Cleveland spearheaded the successful collaboration of seven organizations with internship programs (Summer on the Cuyahoga, Hillel, The Jewish Federation, Engage! Cleveland, NOCHE (Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education/NEOintern) and (I)Cleveland. Together these organizations helped interns interview with prospective employers for their next internship or even a full-time job in Greater Cleveland.

The interns left with more than an appreciation for Cleveland’s beautiful Old Arcade; as one who had not been to Cleveland before stated, “I had no idea Cleveland was such a booming city!” Friends and other interns chimed in about their excitement about Cleveland as a dynamic, growing place for young professionals.

Thanks to NOCHE, employers were matched with interns best suited to their business and interns met the employers who are their best prospects for future employment. The interns knew exactly who to talk to first. The result? As one employer told Global Cleveland, “I have so many resumes and I know multiple interns I want to interview. This is incredible!”

Global Cleveland thanks the workshop presenters David Feinerman of the Northeast Ohio Sewer District, Leigh Mars of Ratliff & Taylor, Kevin Dobbins of Dominion, Susan Davis of the Cleveland Engineering Society, and Nonna Bagdasaryan of ERICO International. Ashley Basile Oeken of Engage! Cleveland organized the dynamic YP panels with young leaders Bishara Addison, Jakiel Sanders, Annie Morino, Anthony Alto, Nazzy Tousi, Brittany Costa, Jason Estremera, Emily Montelone, Spencer Diekin, Mackenzie Hutton, and Ashley Hartman.

This year’s batch of interns got to see the genuine spirit and passion of Clevelanders, and are saying that they, too, want to #ChooseCLE.
