Lebanese Festival
The Lebanese Food and Music Festival was a lovely event celebrating the Lebanese culture in the Cleveland area. The festival was attended by friends and families of the Northern Ohio Lebanese American Association (NOLAA) and numbers reached up to approximately 200 on both Saturday and Sunday. Global Cleveland Meets with Representatives of the Polish Community
Word-of-mouth communication is the most important tool in attracting more newcomers to Cleveland. If someone hears good news about Greater Cleveland's lifestyle and job opportunities from their friends and family, they are more likely to move here. That's why Global Cleveland is hosting a series of meetings with representatives of the area's international communities. The goal is for them to tell their friends and relatives living in the United States and abroad about the open positions and other opportunities in Greater Cleveland.

#ChooseCLE - Feeding Cleveland’s Brain Gain
Over 215 summer interns, many who reside outside of Greater Cleveland, connected with over 35 employers at Global Cleveland’s "#ChooseCLE" event on Wednesday, July 23rd. Global Cleveland spearheaded the successful collaboration of seven organizations with internship programs (Summer on the Cuyahoga, Hillel, The Jewish Federation, Engage! Cleveland, NOCHE (Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education/NEOintern) and (I)Cleveland. Together these organizations helped interns interview with prospective employers for their next internship or even a full-time job in Greater Cleveland.

Global Cleveland Roadshow in Washington, D.C.
On June 26th Global Cleveland hosted its first roadshow in Washington, D.C. Designed to demonstrate Greater Cleveland's job and lifestyle opportunities, the event connected Global Cleveland with at least 118 (out of 137 surveyed) D.C. residents who answered, "Yes," when asked, "Are you open to moving to Cleveland?"
Over 200 professionals attended the event. Each had responded to email and social media invitations from Global Cleveland and the area's community leaders and activists to attend the free reception held in the National Press Club Ballroom in the center of the nation's capital.

The 2014 Gay Games are coming to Cleveland and Akron August 9th thru the 16th. The Gay Games is open to all regardless of sexual orientation or athletic ability. Boomeranging Back to Cleveland
The King is back. LeBron James announced today, July 11th, that he will be returning home to Cleveland to play for the Cavaliers. In an essay to Sports Illustrated, James explained why he is coming home and how important the city is to him. He states in the last few lines of the piece, "In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have. I'm ready to accept the challenge. I'm coming home."
