According to recent data, web developers are among the region’s highest in-demand occupations. Recent rankings compiled by U.S. News and World Report rank web developers fourth among the best technology and STEM jobs, and rank eleventh in the category for over-all best jobs.
As of May 31, 2015, Ohio Means Jobs advertised over 1,800 open positions for web developers in Northeast Ohio. Sixty-eight percent of these jobs posted annual salaries ranging from $50K to $99K, and another twenty-eight percent of the job openings listed offered an annual salary in the six figures. Sample postings include positions for junior and senior Java developers, web programmers, software developers, and application developers. Currently, positions are available within a variety of businesses and industry sectors, from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. The majority of these positions require a bachelor’s degree, but technical experience may also be considered.
