SUMMARY:LOVE PREVAILS
DESCRIPTION:Rwandan Genocide survivor\, Jean Bosco Rutagengwa\, will offer a remote lecture through Case Western Reserve University’s Siegal Lifelong Learning program on Monday\, October 20 at 10:30 am ET.   In April 1994\, a savage campaign of genocide was unleashed against the Tutsi people of Rwanda by the country’s army and other extremists from the Hutu majority ethnic group. In 100 days\, an estimated one million people\, nearly 80% of the entire Tutsi population\, were left dead. One may wonder how this could happen in the 20th century\, and how survivors recover from such atrocities. Answers to these questions are found in one couple’s tale of survival that tells stories of suffering and confrontation with human cruelty yet gives us hope that life is stronger than death\, and that love\, in all its forms\, always prevails.
