Global Cleveland is a non-profit organization focused on regional economic development through actively attracting and retaining newcomers (defined as "immigrants and international and domestic individuals") and welcoming and connecting them economically and socially to the many opportunities through Greater Cleveland.
The mission of Global Cleveland is to increase the population of Northeast Ohio and strengthen the region by working with employers, colleges and universities and community organizations to attract and retain newcomers by connecting them to the region's opportunities, resources and services and promoting the region as a welcomeing place for all.
To create a welcoming region that is a place of opportunity for people of all ethic and international backgrounds and an employment culture based on merit and openness, regardless of age or longevity in Cleveland.
Global Cleveland's goal is to be the regional leader on issues of newcomer attraction and talent retention. It will achieve this goal by connecting the various resources of the region and collaborating with existing organizations to:
Joy is leading Global Cleveland after serving as executive director of the Gordon Square Arts District, a collaboration of three nonprofit organizations in a $30 million capital campaign that has transformed Cleveland’s Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. She brings more than 20 years of experience in television production, public relations, and politics. Joy holds a Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland State University’s John Marshall College of Law, a Masters of Theological Studies degree from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics from Denison University.

As Global Cleveland's Director of Corporate Development & Talent Attraction, Tom will be in forming partnerships with the Northeast Ohio business community to come up with sustainable revenue stream for Global Cleveland and a talent pipeline for the region. Tom comes to Global Cleveland from Saint Martin de Porres High School where he spent the last ten years as Executive Vice President of the Corporate Work Study Program. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Towards Employment and the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. In addition he is Co-Chair of the Personnel Committee at Fairmount Presbyterian Church. Tom resides in Shaker Heights with his wife and two children.

As Global Cleveland's fund administrator, Pamela is responsible for supporting fundraising, program and operations efforts. Pamela is a former broadcast journalist and moderator for Cleveland's award-winning Corporate Club series. Since 1982, Pamela has raised tens of millions of dollars in the arts, civic, educational, economic development, health, technology, and mental health sectors. She graduated with honors from Skidmore College and has served on a number of boards including Cleveland State University Business School Advisory, the President's Advisory Board at Case Western Reserve University and the Ohio Department of Mental Health Community Planning Board.

As Global Cleveland's consultant on its boomerang initiative, Elizabeth is responsible for Global Cleveland's effort to attract former Clevelanders back to Northeast Ohio. She has more than 10 years experience in the non-profit, legal, and project management fields. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard Law School.

As Global Cleveland’s director of community affairs, Meran is responsible for developing, managing and implementing a vision and strategy for Global Cleveland’s community affairs, programs, initiatives, and volunteer services. She has more than 7 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, where her work has focused on program, project and volunteer management. She also works as the Volunteer Coordinator for Meaningful Volunteer. Meran is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, and she earned a Master in Nonprofit Organizations from the Weatherhead School of Management.
